๐ The short version: We don't store your health information. Tool calculations happen in your browser. We use Google Analytics to count page visits. We show ads via Google AdSense. We don't sell your data to anyone.
Contents
1. Who we are
RxTools Pro operates the website at www.rxtoolspro.com. We provide free online pharmacy and clinical reference tools. You can contact us at admin@rxtoolspro.com.
2. What information we collect
We collect minimal information. Here's an honest breakdown:
Information collected automatically
- Usage data: Pages you visit, time spent, browser type, device type, country, referring URL. Collected via Google Analytics.
- IP address: Collected briefly by our web server for security and rate-limiting purposes. Not stored long-term in association with your activity.
- Cookies: Google Analytics sets first-party cookies to track sessions. Google AdSense sets cookies to serve and measure ads.
Information you provide voluntarily
- Contact form: If you contact us via the contact form, we receive your name, email address and message. See Section 6 for details.
3. Your health data and tool inputs
This is the most important section. When you use our tools (dosage calculators, drug interaction checkers, pill identifiers, etc.), the values you enter are processed entirely within your browser using JavaScript. They are never transmitted to our servers. We never see them, never store them, and never have access to them.
We have no way of linking tool usage (e.g. "someone searched for metformin interaction") to an individual identity. Google Analytics gives us aggregate statistics only (e.g. "the drug interaction checker received 5,000 visits today").
We strongly recommend not entering any personally identifiable health information beyond what is needed to use the tools (for example, entering a weight in kg is fine; entering your full name alongside clinical details is unnecessary and we'd prefer you don't).
4. Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how people use our site. This includes page views, session duration, device type, country and general traffic sources. We use this data to improve our tools and understand which features are most useful.
Google Analytics uses cookies (small text files stored on your device) to distinguish between users and sessions. The main cookies set are:
- _ga: Distinguishes users. Expires after 2 years.
- _ga_XXXXXXXX: Maintains session state. Expires after 2 years.
You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
We have configured Google Analytics with IP anonymisation enabled. Your full IP address is not stored by Google Analytics.
5. Advertising
RxTools Pro displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google uses cookies to serve personalised ads based on your browsing history. Ad revenue funds the operation and development of this site.
You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's ad settings or by visiting aboutads.info.
Advertisers have no access to tool usage data, no ability to target users based on health-related inputs made in our tools, and no influence over our editorial content or tool results.
6. Contact form data
When you submit the contact form, we receive your name, email address, selected subject and message. This information is:
- Sent to us via email to handle your enquiry
- Used only to respond to your message
- Not added to any mailing list or marketing database
- Not shared with third parties
- Retained only as long as needed to resolve your query
We also send you an automated acknowledgement email confirming we received your message. You can request deletion of your contact data at any time by emailing admin@rxtoolspro.com.
7. Third-party services
We use the following third-party services that may set cookies or collect data as described in their own privacy policies:
- Google Analytics: Google Privacy Policy
- Google AdSense: Google Privacy Policy
- Google Fonts: Loaded from Google's CDN. May log your IP. Google Fonts Privacy FAQ
We do not use Facebook Pixel, Twitter/X advertising pixels, TikTok tracking, or any other social media advertising trackers.
8. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data under GDPR (EU/UK), CCPA (California) or other applicable law. These rights may include:
- The right to know what data we hold about you
- The right to request correction of inaccurate data
- The right to request deletion of your data
- The right to object to processing
- The right to data portability
Since we collect very little personal data, most users have nothing to request. If you've used our contact form and want your data deleted, email admin@rxtoolspro.com and we'll action it promptly.
For data collected by Google Analytics and AdSense, you'll need to exercise your rights directly with Google.
9. Children's privacy
RxTools Pro is intended for adults and healthcare professionals. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/UK). If you believe a child has submitted personal information via our contact form, please contact us and we'll delete it immediately.
10. Changes to this policy
We'll update this privacy policy when our practices change. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when it was last revised. Continued use of the site after a policy change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
For significant changes, we'll add a notice to the homepage for 30 days after the update.
